He was trapped there in the bottom of a bottle
Running on empty and careering at full throttle
She hid behind the emptiness of a fist filled with tiny pills
Thinking they could dampen life’s constant shrieks and shrills
We live in a world filled with people trying to suppress the pain
Helplessly waiting for sunshine but slowly drowning in the rain
