The Elves Save Christmas by: Regina Puckett Santa’s sled is on Little Suzie’s rooftop Gathering toys for what is to be his last stop The good boys and girls list has almost been filled None of the presents have been lost or even spilled Now all Santa has to do is dig through his bag To find Suzie’s doll but instead there’s a snag There no doll to be found but there are five toy trains To check over his list once more he throws down the reins The tired reindeer become confused and begin to fly away But in the haste and confusion poor Santa falls into the sleigh Now there are empty bags and stray presents being thrown this way and that And Santa is bounced around until he loses both boots and then his hat There is much confusion and bruising before the elves come up with a plan They grab both reins and are finally able to rescue the unfortunate man They locate his boots, his hat and even a lost doll under the seat With Santa’s hat back in place and his boots snug on both feet Christmas has been saved by Santa’s faithful and fast thinking team Merry Christmas, dear children, and to all sweet holiday dreams! |
