Regina Puckett
There is an abandoned rope swing
Outside patiently waiting for spring
It gently sways with the bitter breeze
Between two old, sturdy oak trees
With each back and forth it goes
I wonder if it somehow knows
That Old Man Winter is losing his grip
And going on a spring and summer trip
Away with him and his bastard offspring
Daydreams await on my old rope swing
