Regina Puckett
I flew much too proud and high
Through a sun-kissed, cloudless sky
But then someone clipped my wings
Thinking they were like the earthly kings
They wanted to control my thoughts and me
Wanting to stop me from ever being really free
Those silly fools didn’t know me very well
No one can me lock away forever on this earthen hell
Because I can fly even though I have been clipped
Through time and space I have often slipped
Because I have what so many others do not
I can fly through time and space with just a thought
So try your very best to keep me earthbound
I can laugh, cry, play and fly without making a sound
