Regina Puckett
A poem slowly drifted in and out
On barren wings of anxious doubt
Could it ever be understood or esteemed
These words that litter the page and scream
Send us out and let the world decide
If our meaning will be allowed to slip inside
Hearts where they’ll gather like bits of dust
And shaped into dreams that unite and combust
Watch us turn from an ugly ducking into a beautiful swan
This poem that you were afraid to let the world in on
