What is the working title of your book?
Concealed in My Heart
Where did the idea come from for the book?
This story came from a dream. During that dream I found myself in the position of raising another woman's child. I found that concept so intriguing I daydreamed about for over two years just trying to figure out the hows and whys of it all. I finally realized I had to write it all down so maybe I could finally lay it to rest and begin a new daydream.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Why risk having your heart broken again if true love doesn’t really last forever as promised?
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I will be receiving my rights back to Concealed in My Heart the first part of December from my publishing company. I’m doing a complete makeover on the manuscript and after it has been edited I plan on self-publishing it.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It took about six months to write the first draft and another six to edit.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I spent a few years writing when my daughters were very young. After several rejections I became discouraged and my heart wasn’t as in it for about ten years. Even though I never completely stopped writing, Concealed in My Heart was the first full length novel I poured my heart back into. I had a feeling this daydream wasn’t going anywhere until I had it onto paper so I decided to lick my wounds and try again. While I didn’t hold out much hope Concealed in My Heart was going to be published, I decided writing was something I was doing for me and no one else so why not do what I loved doing? Rejections aren’t pleasant, but if you can find the little pearls of wisdom in them, they are bound to only make you a better writer. I used my rejections to edit and reedit until my book was finally accepted for publication.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I love reading romances but every now and then I will read about a character who has gotten out of this horrible relationship and turned right around and then somehow fallen for another so-called perfect guy. The story has already shown me this character has terrible tastes in men so why should I now believe this new man is any better than the last guy, because before everything went to hell in a handbag, she thought the last man was perfect too. Since now I don’t trust this character's tastes in men, that makes me not enjoy the book as much as I should. This has always played in the back of my mind that I should write a book where my main character thinks she has married the perfect man but later finds out he isn’t perfect for her. Instead of making him someone the readers hate, I wanted to make my character into an imperfect man who we love but we’re disappointed in. I think everyone can relate to that type of person because we all make mistakes we would give anything to be able to go back and fix.
Concealed in My Heart is a tale about two people who lose the love of their lives and then have to find a way to trust the love they find with each other. I know you’re wondering by now how my dream of me raising another woman’s child plays into this tale of love and loss. You have to read the book to find out.
