Regina Puckett
I floated in with the fog and smoke
Concealed by its white, delicate cloak
I drifted in to claim my precious prize
Of startled gasps and astonished cries
Who goes there and please not yet
I have no idea why they’re so upset
They knew this day would come someday
I wonder why they didn’t stop to pray
