Like an ill-tempered, petulant child,
refusing to take his parent’s hand
We’re covering our ears and
refusing to listen to the Father’s plan.
We’re floundering in the mud,
doing everything our own way.
Running just as fast as we can
in the other direction to play.
Then one day we get our wakeup call
and each dream shatters.
It isn’t until then, we see what is true
and right and what really matters.
